Support for Creation and Development of Rural Business
Aim: To provide support for the creation and development of micro and small enterprises (including social economy, farm diversification and private tourism businesses) in rural areas in order to:
Create Employment Opportunities
Improve Capital Infrastructure
Generate Additional Income
Develop the Local Rural Economy
To be classed as a micro/ small enterprise or social economy enterprise and be eligible for support under this measure, businesses (including linked companies) must employ less than 50 full-time (or equivalent) staff.

Activities which may be eligible for support under this Measure include: Light Engineering & Manuacturing, Crafts, Traditonal Skills, Innovative Services.

What Funding is Available?

Please note grant aid is available to both the private and social economy sectors at 50% match funding. For example, if your total eligible project cost is £40,000, you can apply to GROW for a maximum grant of £20,000.
If technical support and/ or marketing is included in an application, the overall maximum grant aid amount ie. £30,000 for new micro business and £50,000 for existing micro/ small business, will reduce by the amount of the technical support and/ or marketing element within the limits above.
