Scotts Powerhouse
- Awardee: Jason Scott
- Location: Oldwood Road, outside Randalstown
- Council: Antrim
- Grant: £7,850
Scotts Powerhouse, on the Oldwood Road, Randalstown, specialises in the conversion and modification of commercial vehicles and lorries. Project promoter, Jason Scott set up the business as a part-time venture 2 years ago and applied to GROW for funding to develop his own business into a full-time enterprise to complement the existing family business. Jason purchased new equipment to meet the demand for conversion work, including an HGV beam setter and welders. The majority of his work involves cutting and welding, so the new equipment enables him to carry out work professionally and efficiently.
"I noticed that an increasing number of customers wanted their vehicle modified to their own specifications, whether it's converting lorries to horse or cattle boxes, narrowing trailers or customising standard lorries to beavertails. With the new equipment I can meet increasing customer demand and complete the wide range of jobs to a high standard."
