Donnelly Cabins Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of portable buildings in Northern Ireland, supplying customers throughout Ireland and the UK. The business received grant assistance to purchase new machinery; a 5 tonne crane for the movement of large steel items throughout the manufacturing unit, a guillotine for cutting steel and a brake press for bending and folding steel.

Rural Development Programme funding enabled Donnelly Cabins to expand the company and respond to the needs of a changing market. The new equipment has allowed them to develop a range of anti-vandal cabins and to fabricate all of their cabins in-house.

“The assistance we received allowed us to purchase new equipment and we can now fabricate our own steel rather than outsourcing or buying it in pre-fabricated. This has given us full control over the production process and allows us to be more competitive in the marketplace. As a result of fabricating all of our cabins in-house, we needed more staff to operate the new machinery and have created jobs to meet the marketplace demands.”
