Details chair covers was set up in September 2005 and received Rural Development Programme funding to assist in setting up office facilities and to market the business. Details hire a range of luxurious chair covers and tiebacks to the wedding and corporate market throughout Ireland. The business has far exceeded its initial expectation in terms of sales and has provided full-time employment for the promoter, and part time employment for 3 other local women, two of whom are under 25.

Grant assistance allowed us to attend bridal fairs and exhibitions, which, as a small business starting out, just wouldn’t have been viable without funding. I believe that if we hadn’t invested in marketing at that stage of the business, Details wouldn’t be so successful now. The support also gave us confidence that we had a good business idea and knowing that Board members believed our company had the potential to succeed was really important to us.”
