Cranfield Equestrian Centre
- Awardee: Joseph O'Boyle
- Location: Cranfield
- Council: Antrim
- Grant: £ 19,740
Joe O’Boyle is a beef cattle farmer who had previously diversified into the livery business and decided to expand the existing equestrian centre by building 12 new stables and purchasing a horse walker. Previously facilities included a livery yard, with a large sand paddock and 12 stables and a large area for grazing. Rural Development Programme funding has enabled Joe to increase capacity of the equestrian centre and offer training services to existing customers and opening his services to horse owners who do not stable their horses in the livery.
“Funding has given us more space and has increased the capacity of the livery business. The horse walker and larger facilities have made us more attractive to new clients.”
